After nearly a decade of throwing pots in NYC and Queens, NY, I relocated to a mountaintop in a friendly Western Catskills hamlet with my husband. Away from the weight and wear of subway commutes and endless office hours, our makers’ spirits came to life through music and carpentry (him) and pottery (me).

On the mountain, the pots have found their voice. The rhythm and repetition of the wheel combined with the unpredictable atmosphere of the salt and wood chambers creates work reflective of the natural curves and muddled surfaces around me. These pieces also speak to the excavated remains of ancient civilizations — the found forms that drew me to pottery as a child.

My work is salt-fired through EarthworksNYC Pottery and New Prospect Pottery in the Hudson Valley. Some specialty pieces have been wood-fired at Peter’s Valley School of Craft.
